Hi! Welcome to my research website.

My name is Dr. William Jones and I am a researcher with a broad range of interests in evolutionary ecology including survival and demography, host-parasite interactions and speciation.

*I am actively looking for post doc opportunities in 2024. If you are interested in collaborating or if you have upcoming positions in your lab then please get in contact!*

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral researcher working with the ÉLVONAL Shorebird Science group, based at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. This group was founded by Tamás Székely. I am studying how survival, mortality and demography influence population trends and mating system evolution in three species of Plover in Madagascar.

Previously, I was based in the lab of Anna Qvarnström in Uppsala University, Sweden. For my PhD I was interested in how avian malaria parasites influenced the ecology and evolution of interspecific interactions in Pied and Collared Flycatchers. My PhD thesis can be found here.
